Our products with the beginning of november


With the onset of winter and with the first cold snap the production of fruit and vegetables get relocated to areas with a temperate climate: from Central Europe to Southern Europe on the peninsula Italy. From Sicily, Puglia, Campania and Lazio we load our full assortment of vegetables. Cauliflower, Kohlrabi, Radish, Fennel … Products.

Vegetables
 
VEGETABLES
 
 
 
Tomatoes, loose or on the vine, smooth skinned, cherry and cocktail tomatoes, round or plum.
Carrots from Sicily, Puglia and Chioggia, Potatoes from Sicily and Puglia,
Lettuce, Endive, Iceberg Lettuce, mixed-Lettuce.
Kohlrabi (cabbage turnip), Savoy Cabbage, Curly and Glossy Parsley, Celery. 


Broccoli
Production areas in Central and Southern Italy, harvest from November till April. 

Packaging:
wooden crates or cardboard boxes with 5 kgs 


Carrots
Fresh carrots are available as of March/April in Sicily, April (Southern Italy) and thereafter in Northern Italy. From late autumn onwards the late varieties are harvested in Southern Italy till the late winter. 

The most common packaging formats are:

poly-bags
Also carrots in bunches are available from November to May from Lazio. These are increasingly greenhouse grown, guaranteeing more consistent quality compared with field grown produce. 


Cauliflower
Production areas are located in Southern to Central Italy. The harvest lasts from November till March. 

Packaging:
cardboard boxes, leaves semi or completely stripped, sealed. 


Celery 
Main production in Southern Italy from November till May. 

Packaging:
poly-bags in crates or cardboard 


Fennel
In Campania and Apulia the production yields are the highest. The harvest lasts from November till April. 

Packaging:
wooden crates 1 layer 


Kohlrabi
They are principally grown in Southern Italy. 90% of our production comes from polytunnels which guarantee consistent quality.
The harvest lasts from November till May.

Lettuce
Greenhouse produce from Southern Italy, from December till April.

Parsley (curly and flat leaf)
Production in Southern Italy from November till May.

New potatoes
Harvesting period
- in Sicily from March till May
- in Apulia from the beginning of April till June
- in Campania from the middle of May till June
In Sicily and Apulia main varieties grown include round and yellow varieties such as Sieglinde, Spunta, Arinda and Timate. The Adora-variety is almost exclusively grown in Campania, etc.
Additionally there is a so-called bisextile production of potatoes from December till February. These are planted in summer and harvested in winter and often mistakenly sold as new potatoes.

Radicchio
The production area is the Veneto. Rosso di Chioggia is the main export variety and, to a lesser extent, Trevigiano.

Chicory
Production in Sicily and all of Southern Italy, from November till March.

Iceberg
Limited production in Sicily and Southern Italy, from December till March. 

Packaging:

Tris (Lollo rossa, Lollo bionda, oakleave)
Main growing area is Southern Italy. Harvest from December till April.

Savoy cabbage
Production areas are located in Southern Italy. Harvest from January till April where it is grown as an early variety.

Spring onions (cipollotti)
Production in Apulia and Campania from November till May.

Tomatoes
Nowadays tomatoes are almost exclusively grown under glass or plastic to provide the right climatic conditions. There is a huge constantly expanding range of varieties. The main varieties we can currently offer almost year round are: round, smooth skinned, loose or on the vine, cherry and cocktail tomatoes, round or plum; the newer green are delicious Camone etc.
Production areas are Sicily and other regions in Campania and Basilicata. The location is less important than advanced growing and packaging techniques in producing a tasty tomato. 

The packaging formats are:
cardboard boxes
baskets in different sizes or units 


White cabbage
Production area in Southern Italy. Harvest from January till April as an early variety.
