Demeter e.V. is the oldest organic association in Germany and is regarded as the most sustainable form of agriculture due to its living circular economy. Demeter farmers have been cultivating their fields biodynamically since 1924. This goes back to the impulses of Rudolf Steiner, who also initiated Waldorf education and anthroposophical healing at the beginning of the 20th century.

The core of biodynamic agriculture is the preservation of the natural cycle within a farm. This is always about a harmonious interplay of earth, plants, animals and humans, whereby each element gives to another and gets what it needs from another.

without artificial additives
Self-produced, subtle preparations of dung, medicinal plants and minerals sustainably promote soil fertility in biodynamic agriculture and fully develop the characteristic flavour of the food.
Precise controls
Demeter farmers and producers do considerably more with biodynamic agriculture than is required by the EU organic regulation. This benefits the quality of the food as well as the environment.
